For the past few days, I haven’t been focusing on myself emotionally. I needed a reminder to actually focus on myself and not other things and people.
It’s good to offer more and more examples of how the Law of Attraction translates into real life.
I used to attract out of need…but not in the way it sounds.
I would have a need to be in a relationship, manifest one and then, after my need was fulfilled, I would move on to my next momentary need (which was usually travel).
During this phase, I was thinking short term. I hadn’t thought about the things I permanently loved. I was living for the experiences rather than love.
And do you know when I realized that living for experiences meant acting out of need in my case?
When I realized I was more focused on not being bored than enjoying my life. I was focused on not experiencing what I feared instead of experiencing what I loved.
For as long as this phase lasted, I was all about keeping my life interesting. And then, I realized I could make it interesting no matter what I loved to do, even if it wasn’t something I ever imagined loving or enjoying in the past. So, this phase brought on something great. It brought answers. It brought me to the core of my passions and made me see what it was all about.
Love for what we do is enough to make the thing in question interesting for ourselves. When we accept what we love and accept that it can bring us an interesting life, we achieve blissfully relaxed awareness. What if tomorrow, I decided to become a mother when I couldn’t see myself ever doing so in the past? I would enjoy everything it entailed. What if I decided to completely turn my lifestyle around and become someone I never thought I wanted to be? If it was something that truly made me happy, I would enjoy it very much.
It’s not what you do – it’s how much you value it. And if you do, and stand by your choice, you will enjoy it and you will make it interesting. Which is great because in order to attract it into your life, you must be able to see it being yours – and what we enjoy, we can see ourselves having.
Sometimes, it’s almost like we forget what we want and therefore forget to stay focused on it.
Think about it – if you stay focused on what you want for several minutes at a time but then refocus on something else and later forget what it is you wanted while allowing your negative thoughts to take over? If this happens, it means you didn’t put enough positive feeling into the idea of having what you want.
When you think about having what you want, how do you truly feel? Are you happy? Because if you are, even a little bit, you won’t be able to convince yourself of not being where you want to be even if you tried!
We have to remember what it is we want as much as we have to remember that it’s ours already. More often than not, it’s as if one forgets what they want and simply start thinking about what they don’t want.
This revelation came completely unexpectedly but it makes perfect sense. If the Universe knows what we want, why would we ever engage in what we don’t? The Universe knows but we have to put our faith in it in order to receive!
There are multiple desires we have which make us happy. I love to think about a world that treats all animals lovingly – this goal fills me with love. It feels like the most important goal in the world. This is why I also encourage nothing but positive thoughts and treatment of others. Fair enough, I haven’t always nurtured positive thoughts about others but I know how unhappy it made me; then, I realized that I and my obvious, well-deserved happiness are the only important factors whereas those I dislike are simply insignificant to me. Let them find their own company that likes them. We must earn our likeability by being a good person and feeling good about ourselves because no one likes the negative, the arrogant or the empty. Nothing impresses me less than the people who contribute nothing to the world, and the only thing one needs to contribute is their self-love. That’s right, self-love, because those who have it also love others and actually change other people’s lives.
A positive person can change someone’s life with just one encounter.
When you’re happy and positive, it’s easier to stay focused on your desires; when you’re negative, it’s easy to forget them altogether.
As most of you know, I travel to, stay in and work from different countries but in the recent years, I have set up camp in my birthplace to which I return after each trip. Just like in various others, I have taken jobs in Zagreb, Croatia that were all speaking, workshop giving and seminar teaching engagements.
I recently wanted to manifest another collaboration opportunity here. Let us begin.
As I have said before, the first opportunity won’t always be the one when manifesting a specific goal. If you’re manifesting a job, your first interview or offer might not be what you want and it is up to you to stay positive and keep going. If you’re manifesting your ideal appearance, maybe it’ll come together one step at a time instead of all at once. If you’re manifesting your soul mate, it might not be the first person you go on a date with (but it also might!).
And as I was reminded, the first opportunity you stumble upon might be a complete opposite of what you want in a work engagement.
Since the field of education in this city is an efficient network and I taught university seminars for students and professors for two years, I was referred to another private school for a similar opportunity. They were looking for someone to give a lecture or a workshop in CV writing and interview skills, and I was given an email address for the person in charge. I wanted to be offered lecture dates with satisfying compensation I am used to receiving so I sent an email detailing my work experience and professional goals.
Twelve hours later, I received a reply. The person in charge of booking the lectures outlined exact demands my work experience was perfect for. We both agreed that the needs of this school were exactly what I offered but their email was concluded with the following lines.
“I must tell you though that our school does not offer compensation for these lectures. 🙂 ”
Yes. They put a smiley face at the end of that sentence.
“So, what do you think? Kind regards!”
I was baffled.
A private school in which students pay tuition on a regular basis wanted to hire a lecturer willing to work for free. What did I think? In the following email, this individual proved to be made aware of the unappealing terms but at the same time, those terms were not up to them.
After a few seconds of laughter, I realized I wasn’t even all that surprised. Local organizations offering fair compensation and looking for exceptional candidates are well aware of ones like this damaging the reputation of everyone in the field. One of the people that referred me to this position was borderline outraged, having been unaware of these terms.
I declined the offer with the following statement.
“Thank you for your email but given the terms, I will have to pass on this opportunity.”
Not to mention that the word “opportunity” evoked sarcasm in my mind.
Unless it’s valuable volunteer work, a private university that values their collaborative force so little is of no interest to me. To be fair, they didn’t reach out to me – I reached out to them after being referred to them. I thought they might be my next collaboration opportunity, a desire not specific to a country, city or school, but maybe this means I should get more specific in my goal and I will reach it faster.
Looking at it from the point of view of both the Law of Attraction and peculiar business practices, I find it very interesting that a private university whose staff routinely complains about a lack of quality in the skills of their student body isn’t willing to invest in someone who would improve those skills. And what are those students paying tuition for, if they are not getting the skills they need by the very admission of their own university?
I wanted to point some of these things out because quality of education and fair compensation are highly important topics in today’s world, as they have been at any point in history. But in the spirit of why we’re here on this blog, we could argue their Law of Attraction skills or we could argue mine. They give nothing and then complain about having developed nothing in their students. I will keep going and soon receive everything I asked for, just like I always do.
You get what you give – LoA tells us that every day. Last university I worked with in this city gave me one of the most valuable experiences of my life and having had such experiences, I wasn’t going to let this one take advantage of me. Unless you value yourself, how can others see your worth? What you accept for yourself sends others a message of the kind of treatment you deserve.
I am having new ideas on collaboration manifestations as we speak.
Letting go entails accepting life until your desire manifests into it; letting go can also be made easier when you realize that your desire is not perfect.
This is how the acceptance of your desire’s current imperfections can actually help you let go while you allow it to transform into everything you want it to be.
None of us are perfect and there is nothing wrong with that yet when it comes to manifesting our desires, we magnify our imperfections in our minds to the point of turning them into self-imposed issues. We look for reasons not to manifest our desires within ourselves, wondering if we deserve to have what we want while perceiving life and its circumstances bigger than they are. We fear change and are intimidated by others instead of accepting that no human being is more deserving than the other.
Instead of worrying about our own worth, we need to accept that we are as worthy as we make our desires to be in our minds. We must find all the meaning within ourselves that we assign to our desires every day.
I know that being yourself can be difficult at times. I understand the courage to be yourself can be difficult to come by. At the same time, I feel that most of our worries come from idealizing certain situations, people and relationships while underestimating ourselves but I guess we prefer to do so over realizing that none of it is perfect…because if we think that what we desire is actually perfect, we have an ideal to strive for. And ideal realities are something we tend to crave. Ideal situations, ideal individuals, the perfect comfort – those are the things we crave until we find something real but better and more wonderful than anything we ever imagined.
Think of anything you ever imagined but then found something real, either in it or apart from it – which one made you feel alive? We can have anything we want and it doesn’t have to be impossible. Anything can be ours and simply real, once we open our hearts to accepting it as it is. This can only happen by accepting ourselves as we are, just as we accept those we admire. It is time to start admiring ourselves, too.
Being ourselves allows us to accept our desires in many ways and suddenly believe in ourselves more than we could have ever imagined.
Is there a person in your life or relationship that makes you feel inadequate or like you’re always coming second? And are your feelings continuously being made worse by your partner who seems to pay more attention to this person and their feelings than you in a variety of ways? If you have answered yes to any of these questions, you probably feeling like there is a person in yours or your partner’s life you have to compete with.
This person could be your partner’s close friend, a nagging ex or even a family member – whoever they are, you feel queasy in their presence or from the very mention of their name. You might even feel that their feelings are more important to your partner than your own and you might be torn between wanting to fix the problem and even considering leaving the relationship.
Before you decide, there are several important points you need to consider.
First of all, it is important to know that no one is forcing you to compete with another person…ever. You choose whether or not to engage in competition, just like you choose everything else in your life.
Personally, competition is beneath me. If I feel like I am being forced to compete with another person, I simply walk away. If you don’t want to walk away immediately, having an open conversation with your partner or whoever it is that makes you compete is always a good idea and it might just solve the problem if you express your feelings openly, honestly and with confidence. Remember that you have the power to solve any problem in your life, either by compromising or leaving.
You have to start living your life from the awareness of being a person of value. Great value isn’t determined by what you have or have accomplished – it is determined by who you are. If you decide to connect with your confidence and stop accepting being treated poorly by another, you will naturally gravitate towards other confident people and positive situations.
You have to start having more fun in your own life, without the need for approval from anyone, your partner included. When you focus on making your own life fun, you will stop being upset by all those people whose behavior is simply not on your level. Making life fun for yourself will help you reconnect with your own confidence and maybe even lead you to new people and new experiences.
And instead of fearing the person you think you have to compete with, use some ingenious ways to get them on your team. If they have a particular skill set, ask them to do something for you. If they are the person who is constantly trying to make you compete, laugh off their attempts and refuse to let them upset you (or pretend that they don’t) as this particular approach will throw them off. Whatever you choose to do, do it with confidence.
Getting this person on your side might just be the inspired action that makes you feel good which will prompt LoA to bring even more positive change into your situation. When you do what makes you feel good instead of worrying about any particular situation, you begin to make better, lighter and more positive decisions which attract even more positive change as a result. This is how LoA works when you take a positive step in your current reality!
What happens when you think your manifestation might arrive at a specific moment yet it doesn’t? You might have gotten signs or feedback that lead you to believe it was happening only to discover that it wasn’t what you hoped for, at least not just yet.
Just because negative beliefs are sometimes easier than positive doesn’t mean you should choose and adopt them.
